We’d previously watched the bats fly in Austin but that didn’t prepare us for the Rio Frio colony. At the latter the bats are much closer – sometimes only feet above your head – and they seem to stream out for ever. I’ve watched humpbacks off Maui and lions in Kruger National Park, and I’d put the Rio Frio bat flight right up with those experiences. Absolutely fantastic!

Wow! What an amazing sight to see. This was well worth the trip to the Frio River. A must see!!! Guide was informative and eager to answer all questions! Stay to the end best experience was after the crowd left! Can really hear the bat wings! This is a must do if near the area. Don’t miss it! Thank you Frio Bat Flight!!!

The family got to go on 8/2. When we were driving in you could see the bats streaming out and flying off into the distance. That alone was breathtaking. When we reached the walking path and were able to experience them flying overhead it was the most unique experience I have ever had.
